The Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea, welcomes the installation of a signalised pedestrian crossing across Warringah Road and Brown Street, Forestville.

"My office has received requests and lobbied for better access across Warringah Road, including to reach City-bound bus stops in the morning. I am very pleased that relevant work will start today.

“There is a clear need for this pedestrian crossing and I congratulate the RTA for not only recognising this, but doing something about it”, Mr O'Dea said.

The Roads and Traffic Authority will:

-          Install a new signalised pedestrian crossing within the existing traffic lights on Brown St and Warringah Rd;

-          Adjust the pram ramps to suit the new pedestrian crossing;

-          Stall a mast arm on Warringah Rd southbound approach;

-          Install pavement lane markings on Brown St for the pedestrian crossing.

The majority of work over the next 4 weeks will be carried out Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm, although some intermittent night works may be carried out between Sunday and Thursday from 9pm to 5am.

"This project has the capacity to make a big difference to road safety and convenience for local Forestville residents", concluded Mr O'Dea.
