O’Dea Best at Responding to Residents

Davidson MP Mr. Jonathan O’Dea has been rated the best MP in NSW. He topped the state’s 135 Members of Parliament at responding to voters from all over the state during the last term of parliament.

The rating of politicians who respond has been undertaken by FairGO, which runs the Votergram service. For 25 years Votergrams have carried voters’ concerns, complaints, criticisms and compliments to all politicians both state and federal. Their goal is to build effective bridges between politicians and the people.

Complimenting Mr. O’Dea, FairGO Director, Mr. Greg Bloomfield, said “Mr. O’Dea has been superb in the way he has attended to issues raised by ordinary voters throughout the state during the last parliamentary term. Politicians are busy people but Mr. O’Dea usually finds the time to help people out.”

“Many of the issues dealt with by Mr. O'Dea were of particular but not exclusive importance to the Davidson community. They included Development planning; Cultural and racial issues; Farming; Wildlife Conservation; Parenting and Health; Corruption; Gun control; Alcohol abuse; Council and Regional planning.”

Mr. Bloomfield explained that “Votergrams allow political responses to be benchmarked because all Votergrams are sent at the same time to all MPs in the particular house of parliament. Each MP has an equal chance to help the voters concerned. Votergrams carry no party political connotations.  It is easy to see those who are interested in responding and those who don’t care enough to do so. Jonathan O’Dea is one of those who cares most.”
