Member for Davidson, Jonathan O'Dea has welcomed a commitment by Liberal's Leader, Barry O'Farrell to commence construction of the new Northern Beaches Hospital at Frenchs Forest if elected to government on 26 March.

"Over $3 billion will be invested in health infrastructure in the first term of government, which includes $885 million to fast track hospital upgrades, redevelopments and other health infrastructure over the next four years.

"This includes $125 million to fast track the new Northern Beaches Hospital at Frenchs Forest," Mr O'Dea said.

"I am delighted on behalf of Davidson constituents and patients generally that a new government led by Barry O'Farrell will see actual construction of the new Northern Beaches Hospital commence in the next Parliamentary term."

"The $125 million will result in serious progress and not just Labor's announcements and delays," he said.

"Along with Brad Hazzard, Mike Baird and Rob Stokes, I will fight for the interests of northern Peninsula residents who deserve to have two strong hospitals, including Mona Vale Hospital.

"The four MPs on the Northern Beaches intend to deliver for our region in government, not just talk about it.

"There is an additional advantage for my constituents on the North Shore as the new hospital should also take pressure off Royal North Shore Hospital.

"The announcement of an additional $885 million for health infrastructure will provide a welcome boost to health services for people in our local area and across NSW, Mr O'Dea concluded.
