Member for Davidson, Jonathan O'Dea has welcomed the announcement of local groups, successful in gaining funding under the 2010 Community Building Partnership Program.

Mr O'Dea said 14 community groups will share funding of more than $500,000 to further develop important projects within the electorate.

"I am thrilled that many of the applicants received the full amount of funding applied for, while other community groups received a substantial financial boost towards the cost of their nominated project," Mr O'Dea said.

Ku-ring-gai Side: The largest grant of $150,000 has gone towards funding the St Ives Girl Guides hall relocation and construction of the St Ives Village Green Youth Precinct in conjunction with Ku-ring-gai Council, while the smallest grant of $7,500 is to the Roseville Scout Group for repairs to roofing and guttering.

$30,000 has also been allocated to replace the roof at the East Roseville Scout Hall, while $45,000 has gone to the East Lindfield Community Preschool towards disabled access, construction of a carpark and refurbishment of a playground.  $37,500 has also been committed for an all weather, synthetic grass training field at the Allan Small Oval while, Gordon Football (Soccer) Club has received almost $72,000 for lights at the venue.

The East Roseville Bowling Club has received $28,000 to refurbish a bowling green, the Lindfield District Cricket Club has been allocated $23,000 to repair and repaint the clubhouse, while a similar amount has gone to St Ives Occasional Care to upgrade playground facilities.

The Anglican Church will receive $25,000 towards refurbishing an auditorium and upgrading youth facilities at St Ives, while $19,000 has been allocated towards providing disabled access at St Swithuns Church at Pymble.

Warringah Side: The Cottage Counselling Centre has received almost $8,500 to upgrade existing premises and provide additional services, while Davidson High School P & C Association has been allocated $23,000 to upgrade a pathway and construct an amphitheatre. The Forest Pre-School Kindergarten will receive a similar amount for softfall improvements and the purchase of a cubby house.

"I was pleased to recommend funding for these much needed projects within the Davidson electorate and congratulate all the organisations concerned," Mr O'Dea concluded.
