Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has held another of his popular forums with constituents, this time in Killara.

“It was the fourth in the series, aimed at giving senior citizens the opportunity to meet face-to-face with their local MP over a light morning tea, Mr O’Dea said.

“I held the first of the forums in Belrose, which was received particularly well. The next was held in St Ives and then another in Lindfield before the most recent in Killara. Almost 50 people from the Davidson Electorate, within the Killara, Gordon and Pymble areas attended the meeting at the Killara Bowling Club,” Mr O’Dea said.

“A major issue was the growing number of high-rise developments permissible under the Town Centres Local Environment Plan.

“There was particular concern over their visual impact, the loss of established homes and the added pressures on infrastructure, including the water supply.

“The need for new sporting facilities, better transparency for government-funded projects, and various local road issues were also raised.

“Health matters were also discussed, including mental health, dementia care, and services for the disabled.

“These meetings provide an excellent opportunity for open discussion, questions and constructive suggestions.

“It is my intention to continue the meetings into the future,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
