Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea, attended the RAID Rally (Rally Against Inappropriate Development) in Sydney’s Hyde Park today, along with many residents from across New South Wales, including the Ku-ring-gai Council area.
Shadow Planning Minister, Brad Hazzard, made a big announcement at the rally that the Coalition would repeal Part 3A of the EP&A Act in government. Part 3A has been used in recent years by the Planning Minister to take control of and approve numerous local developments.
Mr O’Dea said, “The message from the RAID Rally, along with the Ryde and other by-election results on the weekend, is that the people of NSW, including Sydney's north, have had enough of Labor.
I will continue to work with the local community to achieve better local planning outcomes. This will be assisted by the Opposition’s commitment to repeal Part 3A in government,” Mr O’Dea said.
"I look forward to meeting Planning Minister Keneally with other local community leaders from the Ku-ring-gai area this Tuesday at Parliament House. This meeting will push for more appropriate immediate planning of the local town centres,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
