Balancing the figures shouldn’t be too big a problem for two outstanding North Shore HSC graduates.

Taeyoung Son of Killara High School has topped the state in Mathematics Extension 1, while Steven Rabie of St Ives Masada College has come equal first in Mathematics General.

Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has congratulated the pair for their outstanding achievements.

Mr O’Dea said, “The results reflect the quality of both the private and public sector schools in the Davidson electorate, as well as the hard work put in by the individual students.

“The students can always be proud of their extraordinary success,” he said.

Masada College also took out first place in Hebrew.

Rafael Ben-Manashe topped the state in Modern Hebrew Continuers.

Mr O’Dea said, “While it may not be surprising that a student from a Jewish school would top the state in Hebrew it does not detract from the excellent achievement by both the student and the school.

“For any school to produce the best in the state is outstanding. To produce two of the best deserves special praise,” Mr O’Dea said.

“I commend all students who completed the HSC this year.

“Simply completing the HSC is a great achievement in itself,” he said.

“I wish all the graduating HSC students the very best for the future.”
