Community groups in Davidson will benefit from $200,000 in funding under the latest Community Building Partnership Program.

Member for Davidson, Jonathan O'Dea said the funding will be a welcome boost to 13 local organisations undertaking capital works to improve community facilities.

"The successful organisations and the community at large will benefit from the improved infrastructure, while local trades and businesses stand to benefit from a financial injection," Mr O'Dea said.

In the Davidson electorate, the grants include $13,397 to The Forest Pre-School Kindergarten at Belrose for the addition of a shade sail and $10,120 to the Northern Suburbs Dog Training Club for solar powered lighting at St Ives Showground dog training area.

"There was strong competition for the $200,000 on offer to Davidson Community Groups, with applications totalling more than $750,000 – almost four times the available funding," Mr O'Dea said.

Across NSW more than 2,700 applications were received, with over 1300 receiving funding as part of $90 million allocated to the program over four years.

Mr O’Dea said, “The O’Farrell Government is getting on with the job of rebuilding NSW by investing almost $60 billion on infrastructure over the next four years to address the backlog left by the previous NSW Labor Government.

“The latest Community Building Partnerships Program allocations help fulfil that election commitment.

“I look forward to seeing the benefits of the latest funding as the various community projects are completed and utilised by our local community," Mr O'Dea said.
