Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has congratulated St Ives based musician ‘Jonti’ and brother-manager, Lee Danilewitz on receiving NSW Government funding to assist in the development of their music careers.

The funding has been provided through the Arts NSW, Quick Response Funding Program, which supports musicians and their managers to attend industry conferences, trade fairs and other career-defining opportunities.

Mr O’Dea said the funds will help the brothers meet the cost of attending the BIGSOUND 2013 music industry conference in Brisbane.

“BIGSOUND offers a great opportunity for performers like Jonti to develop contacts and showcase their music to top national and international industry experts and buyers,” Mr O’Dea said.

“Jonti is viewed as one of the leading names in Australian electronic music and the NSW Government grant of $1,050 aims to assist in the development of career opportunities in Australia and overseas,” Mr O’Dea said.

Minister for the Arts, George Souris, said NSW is home to an incredibly talented and diverse creative community and these grants will help them present and showcase their work.

“The Government’s support is part of our commitment to the arts and in recognition of its contributions to the economic, social, creative and cultural development of our State,” he said.

The Arts NSW, Quick Response Funding Program is administered by MusicNSW on behalf of the NSW Government. MusicNSW is a not for profit industry association set up to represent, promote and develop the contemporary music industry in NSW, in addition to managing a number of music development projects.
