The NSW Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is shaking up government agencies responsible for the NSW Government Property Register.

The Auditor-General has criticised Register limitations since 2002 - yet recommendations remain outstanding.

“Ten years is a ridiculously long time to finish the job. As a crucial record of NSW Government property assets, it is unacceptable that the register is incomplete and unreliable,” said Committee Chair, Jonathan O’Dea MP.

The PAC is empowered to challenge the government bureaucracy on delivering efficient and effective outcomes in the public interest.

The PAC will hold a public hearing on Thursday, 12 September to challenge representatives of NSW Land and Property Information and Government Property NSW on this topic.
