Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea is encouraging community organisations to apply for the 2013 Community Building Partnership program. It opens next Wednesday, 19 June.
“This grant program is an opportunity for community groups to apply for funding for infrastructure projects that benefit the local Davidson community,” Mr O’Dea said.
“The NSW Government is looking for projects that will deliver positive social, recreational or environmental outcomes through the construction or improvement of facilities.
“The program also supports the local economy through the creation of construction jobs and businesses benefiting from infrastructure delivery,” Mr O’Dea said.
The 2013 program builds on the local success of the 2012 program that saw the roll out of 1,235 community projects throughout NSW as a part of $90 million allocated to the program over four years.
The local list of 2012 Community Building Partnership grants include $40,000 to the Lindfield Junior Rugby Club to improve lighting at Lindfield Oval, $20,000 to Warringah Council to upgrade the Wayne Schimanski playground in Davidson as well as grants to improve disabled access and make repairs to church and other community buildings.
“The NSW Government is getting on with the job of rebuilding NSW by delivering record state funded infrastructure – whether it is the Northern Beaches Hospital, the much-needed F3-M2 link or the North West Rail Link. We understand the importance of local community infrastructure,” Mr O’Dea said.
Applications open on Wednesday 19 June and close on 31 July 2013.
