Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has announced ten local community projects will receive NSW Government funding totalling $200,000 under the popular Community Building Partnership Program.
The largest grant of $40,000 goes to Lindfield Junior Rugby Club to upgrade lighting at Lindfield Oval, while $30,000 has been allocated towards upgrading the North St Ives Scout Group Hall, including disabled amenities. The First Lindfield Scouts also receive $18,000 towards replacing a leaking roof and damaged gutters.
$21,000 will help refurbish the Pymble House Playgroup Hall and over $20,000 will enable Corpus Christi Church, St Ives to undertake disabled access upgrades.
Warringah Council receives $20,000 for upgrading the Wayne Schimanski Playground in Davidson and $20,000 goes to Chabad House of the North Shore for a Pre-School Waterproof Shelter Project.
Lindfield Uniting Church receives $15,000 towards facilities for people with disabilities, while St Peter’s Anglican Church, Lindfield has been allocated $10,465 for toilet refurbishment to enhance disabled, community and parish use.
Almost $5,000 has also been allocated towards improving the delivery of Life Education to children in the Davidson Electorate.
NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell announced the roll out of 1235 community projects as a part of the $90 million program over four years.
“Local construction jobs and businesses will benefit from the activity as this community infrastructure is delivered,” Mr O’Dea said.
“While the NSW Government is getting on with the job of delivering major infrastructure projects, we understand important local community infrastructure benefits too.
“There was strong competition for the available funds and a high level of interest from the community with almost 2,500 applications received across NSW in total.
“I look forward to seeing the benefits to our communities as projects are undertaken and outcomes utilised across the Davidson Electorate, Mr O’Dea said.
