Member for Davidson, Jonathan O'Dea has welcomed Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) extending the opportunity for community feedback on the concept design for the Boundary Street upgrade at Roseville until 8 February 2013.
“RMS has received a large number of submissions on the Boundary Street proposal. However, some community members have requested more time to have their say,” Mr O'Dea said.
"RMS will extend community consultation to Friday 8 February and host another information session to allow for further community feedback on the proposal.
“The additional community update will be held at the Dougherty Community Centre, 7 Victor Street, Chatswood on 5 February from 6:30 to 8:30 pm." Mr O'Dea said.
The $20 million Boundary Street widening project is part of the NSW Government’s $125 million Pinch Point Program which aims to reduce delays and manage congestion on Sydney’s main roads during peak periods, to improve road safety.
The concept design is on display until Friday 8 February at www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roadprojects and copies can be ordered by calling RMS Project Manager John Kalantzis on (02) 8849 2610.
Written feedback is welcome to John Kalantzis c/o Roads and Maritime Services, PO Box 973 Parramatta CBD, NSW 2124 or by email to John.Kalantzis@rms.nsw.gov.au.
Community comments about the proposed upgrade of Boundary Street will be considered by RMS. A community issues report will be prepared and the issues considered in the review of environmental factors.
Mr O'Dea said, “The detailed design with any changes as a result of community comment is planned to start after the extended consultation period.
"I encourage anyone with a view on the proposed upgrading to take advantage of the additional community consultation and make their views known," Mr O'Dea concluded.
