Transport for NSW is starting preliminary works on the new Gordon Station commuter car park this week, according to Jonathan O'Dea, Member for Davidson.

“Earlier this year the Premier and Minister for Transport announced that the NSW Government would provide additional infrastructure at Gordon Station to help train customers and ease traffic congestion in the area,” Mr O'Dea said.

“We are delivering more than 160 additional car spaces across two locations at Gordon Station as well as an upgraded bus interchange and a new ‘kiss and ride’ zone.

“On Saturday, 17 November Transport for NSW will carry out investigative works, including geotechnical studies, to help progress planning and design for the upgrades.

“The results from these investigations will lay the foundation for the final design so we can get on with the job of delivering real benefits for existing and future transport customers,” said Mr O'Dea.

The existing commuter car park on the corner of Werona and Park Avenue will be closed this Saturday between 8am and 5pm to allow the works to be carried out safely. The bus interchange will continue to operate as usual during these times.

Once a proposed design for the new commuter car park and interchange upgrade has been developed, Transport for NSW will consult with the community and progress the necessary planning approvals. Subject to approval, construction of the project is set to commence mid next year.

Other projects that will be delivered for North Shore commuters as part of the $770 million Transport Access Program include additional commuter parking at Lindfield Station and upgrades to transport interchanges at Milsons Point and Neutral Bay ferry wharves.
