Member for Davidson, Jonathan O'Dea is encouraging community organisations and local councils to take advantage of the NSW Government's latest Community Building Partnership Program (CBPP).
"Applications for funding towards the cost of building important community infrastructure to improve the delivery of community services, open on Monday (27 August)", Mr O'Dea said.
"At least $200,000 is being made available to every electorate and I am keen to ensure my electorate of Davidson uses its full quota in the best possible way," he said.
Applications may only be made online at www.communitybuildingpartnerships.nsw.gov.au during the application period, which closes on 30 October.
Organisations are encouraged to visit the website early to ensure they are eligible to participate and to check the details they will be required to include in their application.
Premier O'Farrell said, "The CBPP allows for community infrastructure to be built, refurbished or enhanced, making an important impact on the day-to-day lives of our communities.
"In many cases the funds will go to much needed social infrastructure with sporting, youth, cultural and community clubs all benefitting from project funding.
"The program also provides jobs for local tradespeople in local communities across NSW," Mr O'Farrell said.
In the three years of the program, more than 4,375 grants have been offered to local community organisations and local councils, with over $125 million invested.
"At the close of applications I will be pleased to provide comments and recommendations on the suitability and priority of the eligible proposals for the Premier's consideration," Mr O'Dea said.
"The first step is to visit the CBPP website to determine if a particular project is eligible for a CBPP Grant and provide the required information by 30 October," Mr O'Dea concluded.
