Community members are invited to have their say on cycle lane improvements on Mona Vale Road at Terry Hills.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said the NSW Government is funding the $400,000 project, which would provide a vital missing link in the local cycleway network.
“The NSW Government is committed to encouraging active transport including cycling in the Northern Beaches area,” Mr O’Dea said.
“Roads and Maritime Services is proposing to widen the northern side of the Mona Vale Road eastbound lanes for 100 metres near the intersection of Forest Way to allow a new cycleway to be built.
“The cycle lane would connect with the existing cycleway further west of the intersection.
“Adjustments would also be made to traffic light posts and street lights on the north west corner of the intersection to facilitate the new link.
Mr O’Dea said “The work should allow cyclists on Mona Vale Road to cross the Forest Way intersection more safely before continuing east of the intersection.”
Feedback on the proposal is invited by Tuesday 5 April and can be sent to delivery partner DownerMouchel at enquiries_nsw@downermouchel.com or PO Box 6465 North Ryde NSW 2113.
All feedback will be considered and the community will be kept informed as the project progresses.
