An inquiry has begun into current tenancy management arrangements for NSW social housing, Jonathan O’Dea MP, Chair of the NSW Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, announced today.

“All social housing stakeholders, including tenants and the broader community, need to be confident that tenancy management services are as cost effective and efficient as they can be,” Mr O’Dea said.

“This inquiry will be an important opportunity to compare public tenancy management with arrangements in the private and community housing sectors.”

The Committee’s inquiry will also assess the range and effectiveness of support services provided to tenants of social housing.

“We will be looking closely at the outcomes for tenants under current arrangements to identify measures that might improve tenancy management services,” Mr O’Dea said.

The closing date for submissions to the inquiry is Friday 8 August 2014.
