Newly appointed NSW Retirement Village Ambassador, Kathryn Greiner AO, visited the Davidson electorate on Tuesday to share information about the government’s exciting reforms to the sector.

Member for Davidson Jonathan O’Dea said it was part of a state wide tour, to listen to residents and discuss any retirement village questions they might have.

“The Ambassador is a big part of the government’s plan to help put the power back in the hands of retirement village residents,” Mr O’Dea said.

“For too long residents didn’t have a voice, but now Kathryn Greiner is meeting people face to face and can take concerns back to the Government.

“It was great to attend the session with dozens of retirement village residents at Aveo Lindfield Gardens and see Ms Greiner interact,” Mr O’Dea said.

Ms Greiner will travel across the State, detailing the NSW Government’s reforms to make retirement villages more transparent and accountable.

“Ms Greiner also led the NSW inquiry into Retirement Villages in 2017, making her a passionate and solutions focussed ambassador for those living in and moving to retirement villages,” Mr O’Dea said.

Ms Greiner said she looked forward to meeting with locals across NSW, to discuss how the reforms can help them and to hear about their retirement village experiences.

“I think it’s vital that residents are informed and their concerns heard.

“As an advocate for senior residents I believe it is important that we understand residents’ perspectives to generate any potential recommendations for retirement villages,” Ms Greiner said.
