Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has announced over $48,000 in funding to sport and recreation facilities in the Warringah area from the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program.
“I am excited to announce funding for Belrose Bowling Club, Wingara Playground and Northside Riding Club.
“These funds will improve facilities and bring benefits to the local community for years to come,” Mr O’Dea said.
Warringah Council will receive $25,000 to upgrade Wingara Playground. New facilities will include play equipment, softfall, pathways, picnic furniture, shade structure and garden beds.
“Providing play areas for local children and families to congregate is vital for children’s physical health and helps forge community connections,” Mr O’Dea said.
Belrose Bowling Club will receive $11,000 to modernise their club facilities which are used by over 20 other community groups.
The Northside Riding Club, based in Terrey Hills, will receive $12,321 to provide accessible and safe toilets for people with disabilities, children and the community at St Ives Showground.
The NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program aims to improve community infrastructure and create more vibrant and inclusive communities.
“All these projects encourage community participation, inclusion and cohesion.
“Clubs provide not only sporting facilities but are venues for local meetings, celebratory events and socialising,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
