Long Day Care Centres in the Davidson electorate have received $143,880 to deliver more preschool programs and strengthen care and education for kids.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said, “Long Day Care is the preferred option for many working families.
“We want to ensure high quality care and education for our children, regardless of the type of service they attend,” Mr O’Dea said.
“This funding boost will enable centres across the Davidson electorate to purchase additional resources, develop a preschool program based on the Early Years Learning Framework and to broaden staff skills, including upgrading qualifications.
“Maintaining a high standard of service delivery in early childhood education is no simple task.
“I commend all long day care centres in the Davidson electorate for their diligence and dedication in providing high quality care and education,” Mr O’Dea said.
Davidson Electorate Long Day Care Centres to benefit include the Acre Woods Childcare at Roseville which receives over $19,000 and the Mimosa Children’s Centre which will benefit by almost $17,000.
Making a Difference at Frenchs Forest and the Masada College Lindfield Early Learning Centre will each receive more than $15,000. In all, 17 Long Day Care Centres in the Davidson electorate will benefit from the new funding.
Minister for Early Childhood Education, Leslie Williams said the grant program is an extension of the NSW Government’s reforms in early childhood education.
“Preschools have already benefited from this Government’s reforms and we are now extending funding to Long Day Care centres,” Mrs Williams said.
The new Long Day Care National Partnership Grants Program is part of an agreement between the NSW and Commonwealth Governments to increase participation in preschool programs for four and five-year-old children in the year before school.
