Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea is encouraging the community to have a say on a new proposed location for a permanent electronic message sign on Forest Way at Belrose.
“The sign was previously suggested for a site about 80 metres north of Glenaeon Avenue, but investigations found it would impact existing utilities,” Mr O’Dea said.
“The new location is about 25 metres north of Bundaleer Street.
“This location would provide motorists with improved visibility of the sign and avoid underground utilities.”
Mr O’Dea said the sign would be funded by the NSW Government as part of a $1.3 million program to provide early warning of incidents, including flooding, to help motorists better plan their journeys.
“The sign aims to provide road users with up to date information on traffic conditions including crashes, flooding or breakdowns,” he said.
The site design is expected to be finalised in October, once feedback from the community has been received and considered.
The project is part of Road and Maritime’s efforts to improve the operational efficiency of Sydney’s road network.
Feedback on the proposed sign location will be received until Friday 5 September.
