Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has welcomed an official tally of funding for education in the Davidson electorate in this parliamentary term.

“Since 2011, I have secured $28,193,778 for our local schools,” Mr O’Dea said.

“This funding will improve how schools function and serve their local communities.

“I am also pleased to announce St Ives Park Public School will now receive structural and fabric upgrades as part of the NSW Liberals & Nationals’ school infrastructure plan.

“This upgrade will greatly improve the learning facilities at St Ives Park Public School.

“Such upgrades make schools modern, pleasant environments for students, teachers, staff and volunteers, “Mr O’Dea said.

Since 2011 the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government has committed almost $3.2 billion to school infrastructure and maintenance; including announcing 18 new and relocated schools and 44 major school upgrades.

The NSW Government has also announced funding for an additional 694 additional permanent classrooms spaces, reducing the need for demountables, such as at Killara High School.

These projects will deliver over 10,084 net additional public school places for schools across the State.

“The NSW Liberals & Nationals Government is determined to provide the best learning environments possible in our schools,” said Mr O’Dea concluded.
