Minister for Lands, Niall Blair and Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea have announced the NSW Government will invest $22,000 to support the development and maintenance of a local public reserve.
“As part of the Public Reserves Management Fund – nearly $17 million will be invested across the state to improve our public reserves,” Mr Blair said.
“We have 700 reserves, which are looked after by volunteers, who help care for facilities such as public halls, parks and reserves, swimming pools and sportsgrounds and I am proud the NSW Government is supporting these reserves that are often the backbone to our local communities.”
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said NSW Public Reserves will be given a facelift to ensure they remain at the heart of local communities.
“In the Davidson electorate, $22,000 has been allocated to the Wakehurst Parkway Reserve Trust.
“The funding will be used for habitat protection to control high priority weeds and to plant native tube stock.
“The work will be undertaken by Warringah Council along Middle Creek and Oxford Creek in Oxford Falls.
“Through the allocation of this and other Crown Reserve funding, the NSW Government is supporting the ongoing management of our Crown reserve system,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
