Artists and arts and cultural organisations across NSW are invited to apply for a wide array of funding opportunities under the NSW Liberals & National Government’s 2016/17 Arts and Cultural Development Program.
The program will support visual arts, museums, literature, theatre, dance, music, regional touring, capital works and professional development for artists across the state.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea urged local artists and art and cultural organisations to apply for funding.
“The program is a major part of our Government’s Create in NSW 10-year framework which aims to raise statewide participation and attendance in arts and culture,” Mr O’Dea said.
“This program is highly competitive, so I encourage local artists and organisations to read the guidelines we have launched today and consider applying for funding.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant said the 2015/16 program provided more than $51 million for artists and arts and cultural organisations through diverse initiatives including for Regional NSW and Western Sydney.
“I’m proud to launch application guidelines for our Arts and Cultural Development Program, which will play a key role in promoting excellence and diversity across our state’s dynamic creative industries,” Mr Grant said.
“As I have travelled around the state, I have seen first-hand how the program is supporting a range of quality arts and cultural experiences for artists and audiences alike.
“No matter where artists and audiences live in NSW, we’re committed to ensuring they have opportunities to participate in arts and culture that promotes well-being and boosts local economies,” Mr Grant said.
Applications will run progressively until September and are currently open for the NSW Visual Arts Emerging Fellowship, Performing Arts Touring and Artists Support program.
