Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has urged Seniors Card members in to check out the new Discount Directory and encouraged any eligible seniors who have not yet applied for a Seniors Card to obtain one and start enjoying the benefits.
“Cardholders can now receive their 2015 Discount Directory with listings of updated discounts and special offers,” Mr O’Dea said.
“In NSW, discounts are available from over 3,000 locations.
“The most popular saving is the NSW public transport travel concession, where Seniors Card holders enjoy unlimited travel for $2.50 per day,” Mr O’Dea said.
There’s something for everyone in the new directory – food and beverages, travel, computing, events and entertainment, magazines, and much more – with discounts between 10 and 50 per cent.
About 95 per cent of people in NSW over the age of 60 are currently taking advantage of the program and its discounts.
Discounts can be found by downloading the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play and find information about the closest shops, businesses and services giving Seniors Card members discounts.
Minister for Ageing John Ajaka reminds businesses interested in being added to the directory that it’s free to be listed and reaches more than one million seniors in NSW.
“Every participating business is listed on the website at www.seniorscard.nsw.gov.au, and the mobile app, for all members to easily find,” Mr Ajaka said.
To qualify for a NSW Seniors Card, applicants must be a NSW permanent resident, aged 60 or over and work no more than 20 hours a week in paid employment.
