Hundreds of St Ives families will benefit from the NSW Government’s record investment in education, with the construction contract for the major upgrade to St Ives High School now out to tender.
Jonathan O’Dea Member for Davidson explained that the major upgrade will deliver a new multi-use indoor sport centre and renovate technical and applied science facilities, to be completed in late 2020.
“This major infrastructure upgrade will make all the difference for students and educators, enabling our local communities to thrive,” Mr O’Dea said.
Education Minister Rob Stokes said the project is another example of the NSW Government delivering the school resources local students and their families deserve.
“We are building schools across NSW to strengthen our world-class education system so our children are well prepared to succeed in the jobs of the future,” Mr Stokes said.
The major upgrade to St Ives High School is part of the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government’s record $6 billion school building program to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools, including major upgrades to Killara High School and St Ives North Public School and the recently opened Lindfield Learning Village.
In addition to the record-breaking school building program, the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government has committed an unprecedented investment to eliminate the school maintenance backlog so that every public school in the State provides the world-class facilities that students and teachers deserve.
