Active commuters in Frenchs Forest will soon have a shared path in the local area.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea, announced the NSW Government will allocate $80,000 towards the construction of a shared path through Frenchs Forest.
“The new three metre wide shared path will hug the southern side of Adams Street and run 250 metres between Forest Way and Prince Charles Avenue,” Mr O’Dea said.
This investment in active transport is part of the NSW Government’s Active Transport (Walking and Cycling) program, an addition to a number of existing programs that will deliver more than 120 new projects across the state.
“Active transport is an opportunity to promote tourism and healthy family activity, giving members of our local community a safe alternate mode of transport,” Mr O’Dea said.
The provision of safe and connected bicycle networks within ten kilometres of NSW’s major cities is a key deliverable of Future Transport 2056.
Future Transport 2056 emphasises the importance of active transport for Greater Sydney and NSW.
“I am proud that this new shared path is part of a commitment that has seen the NSW Government allocate more than $250 million to cycling and walking in the past 5 years,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
