Only 22% of available CTP Green Slip refunds have been claimed across Davidson, with 26,592 policy holders still to claim the money owed to them.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said, “As a result of the NSW Government’s recent reforms, over $2.18 million will be returned to vehicle owners across Davidson, with an average refund of $58.70. I encourage those eligible to claim their refunds online.”
Last year the NSW Government overhauled the CTP Green Slip Scheme to make it more affordable. In addition to lower premiums in 2018, the Government is providing partial refunds to the owners of vehicles across the state with insurance premiums calculated based on the cost of the old scheme.
Minister for Finance, Services and Property, Victor Dominello said, “The new CTP scheme is delivering a big win for motorists through lower premiums, greater protections for those injured on the road and refunds on premiums paid during 2017.”
Mr Dominello said, “The new CTP scheme offers significant savings for motorists. The average Green Slip price this year across Sydney will be only $553, down from the $710 projected without reform, which represents a saving of $157.”
Eligible motorists with a MyServiceNSW email account will receive an email advising them of their refund in the coming weeks. The refund will be processed through their MyServiceNSW account and paid into a bank account of their choice. Vehicle owners who do not have a MyServiceNSW account can check online if they are eligible for a refund or by creating an account.
Refunds will be available online at service.nsw.gov.au/greensliprefund during the evening from 7pm until 7am from Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday until 30 September 2018. Alternatively eligible motorists can visit a Service NSW branch with relevant documentation.
As well as the CTP Green Slip refunds, the NSW Government has introduced many measures to help ease cost of living pressures for households, including free car registration for regular toll users, cheaper hospital car parking, and the FuelCheck app.
