Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has welcomed the NSW Government’s announcement that rules for building and renovating homes will be re-written to make them more user-friendly.

The announcement comes as an online video was released to encourage discussion between neighbours before they renovate their homes.

Mr O’Dea said the NSW Government wanted to make planning laws easier to understand for everyone.

“Housing rules should be simpler for basic renovations homeowners want to make to their homes,” Mr O’Dea said.

“This announcement is a step in the right direction to rewrite renovation rules and help ensure neighbours keep each other in the loop before work begins.”

Proposed changes to the Housing Code will be exhibited for public feedback later in the year.
