Local community groups and councils on the Northern Beaches will be eligible to apply for funding as part of the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership grant.
Northern Beaches State MPs are encouraging incorporated not-for-profit groups and local Councils to apply for the 2015 round of the Community Building Partnership funding grants with applications open from 15th June 2015.
The Community Building Partnership program offers grant funding for community infrastructure projects that encourage and support the activities and improvement of the local community.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said “The funding from the Community Building Partnership program can assist in furthering community infrastructure projects or funding to get new projects off the ground.”
Member for Pittwater, Rob Stokes MP said, “Each Northern Beaches electorate will allocate $200,000 amongst projects that best satisfy the funding criteria.”
Member for Wakehurst, Brad Hazzard MP said “We are seeking infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, recreation and environmental outcomes for the local community.”
Earlier in the year, NSW Premier and Member for Manly Mike Baird announced the rollout of 33 Northern Beaches projects from the 2014 program. “I look forward to seeing the benefits of the 2015 projects as they are undertaken and more importantly put unto use.” said Mr Baird.
Mr Baird recently visited Seaforth Bowling Club to see first-hand the benefits of their $97K grant that is helping to re-furbish the Seaforth community facility. The refurbishment will be utilised not only by the local bowlers, but also members of the Seaforth Balgowlah Rugby Club, mothers groups and local schools.
Applications must be submitted online before 5pm - 24th July. More information on the funding and eligibility criteria can be found at: www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au
