Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea has congratulated local hero Sue Heins for her outstanding commitment to the community, as recognised at the 2015 Women in Local Government Awards.
Sue is a Councillor and the former Deputy Mayor of Warringah Council. She received the Award for Elected Representative from a Metropolitan Council from Minister for Local Government Paul Toole and Minister for Women Pru Goward at a reception in NSW Parliament House today.
“Sue is an outstanding role model for women trying to juggle a business career and a leadership role as an elected council representative,” said Mr O’Dea.
“While dedicating countless hours to serving her community, Sue is also a local business owner in Brookvale, Dee Why and Frenchs Forest.
“On top of this, Sue has found the time to build a well-established women’s business networking group, Inspiring Women.
“From a strong group of nominees, with a range of diverse skills, Sue’s dedication has been rewarded.
“There is no doubt that Sue has achieved a great deal in furthering the cause of women in local government and business, for which she has been deservedly awarded. Congratulations Sue!” said Mr O’Dea.
