Community feedback is invited on proposed weekend and extended weekday clearways on Mona Vale Road as part of the NSW Government’s new congestion-busting measures.
Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea said, Mona Vale Road, between St Ives and Pymble, has been identified as one of five priority sites.
“This is a government that’s getting on with easing congestion through immediate measures such as our $246 million pinch points program and our Clearways strategy - at the same time that we are delivering vital infrastructure projects like WestConnex,” Mr O’Dea said.
“Clearways can help reduce congestion for more reliable and efficient travel with improved traffic flow, reliable travel times for buses and freight vehicles and a safer road network.
“Based on initial investigations, Roads and Maritime is considering operating a clearway along Mona Vale Road in both directions on weekdays from 6am to 10am and 3pm to 7pm, and on weekends from 9am to 6pm. Community feedback is welcome,” Mr O’Dea said.
Community members are invited to an information session on Tuesday 11 March from 5pm to 7pm and Saturday 15 March from 2pm to 4pm at St Ives Community Meeting Room, 207 Mona Vale Road at the corner of Rosedale Road, St Ives.

Mr O’Dea said, “While 67 shopping strip parking spaces would be impacted by the clearways, Roads and Maritime will work with Ku-ring-gai Council to ensure road users are still able to access local businesses.
“A $21 million fund has been created to help with identifying alternative parking across all proposed clearways for the next four years. No clearway will be put in place unless alternative parking is identified.
“Investigations into alternative parking options will continue during consultation and with feedback provided through a community issues report to be published on the Roads and Maritime website,” Mr O’Dea concluded.
