Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea is encouraging nominations from his electorate for the 2014 NSW Seniors Week Local Achievement Awards. 

“Do you know a senior in the Davidson electorate with tireless energy and determination? Someone who puts their community and loved ones before themselves and deserves a pat on the back? Then please nominate them for a Seniors Week Local Achievement Award,” Mr O’Dea said.

Minister for Ageing, Minister John Ajaka said, “Seniors make such an important contribution to their local community.

“These awards are one way in which each local community can show its appreciation for the talents, skills and generosity of this impressive group,” he said.

 Mr O’Dea said, “The awards aim to showcase the enormous talent there is among seniors.

“We are calling on people to nominate seniors who make a difference in their local community,” he said.

Mr O’Dea said he is keen for the community to acknowledge and celebrate the important role seniors play within our society.

“I believe it is important to give thanks where it is due and these awards are the Davidson electorate’s way of showing its appreciation for these exceptional seniors,” Mr O’Dea said.

Nominations for the 2014 NSW Seniors Week Local Achievement Awards are now open and will close on 1 March 2014.

The awards will be presented to celebrate 2014 NSW Seniors Week which is being held from 15 March to 23 March 2014.
