Member for Davidson, Jonathan O’Dea, is encouraging people in the Davidson electorate to shape opportunities in their community by voting to fund their favourite My Community Project.
“The My Community Project public voting is open until Thursday, 15 August 2019. It is a great opportunity for locals to vote to fund between three and five projects and have a direct say in projects important to them” said Mr O’Dea.
“It is wonderful to see the people of Davidson have13 projects in the public vote. The projects that prove most popular will receive My Community Project funding” he said.
“My Community Project will fund projects in each NSW electorate to help improve the wellbeing of the people and communities that live there. Successful projects will be determined through a public vote and the projects that receive the most support will receive funding. Up to $260,000 is available for each electorate” said Mr O’Dea.
“In Davidson there are both large and small projects ranging from updating sports facilities, staging an arts event, playground sunshade, energy efficient lighting, a ramp to make a scout hall accessible, a community garden, a men’s shed, a mountain bike path and a respite day centre for people living with dementia” he said.
“Everyone in the electorate over 16 gets a vote and the projects all have wide community appeal. They target issues like health, disability, fitness, sustainability and community togetherness” said Mr O’Dea.
People can vote online at https://www.nsw.gov.au/improving-nsw/projects-and-initiatives/my-community-project/ or at the Service NSW Centre.
“My Community Project is made possible by the NSW Generations Fund. The fund helps keep the state’s debt at a sustainable level, while sharing the benefit of its returns with the people of NSW by funding community projects” said Mr O’Dea.
